We made it!!

"Ki Kati"  pronounced "Chi Kati" aka "Hi!"

We made it to Africa after 33 hours of travel. I piloted the plane on the way to Amsterdam.  We arrived in Africa at midnight (3:00 pm lander time) and we slept twelve hours (until lunch)!!!  This was our conversation when I woke up; Mom-"Wake up Brit," Me-"Why,"  Mom-"It is lunchtime,"  Me-"WHAT!!!!!!"
Lake Victoria

Today we went to the Ugandan Wildlife Education Center or as the Ugandans call it,"The Zoo" We saw all sorts of animals like; Elephants, Giraffes, Jackals, Cheetahs, Rhinos, Baboons, Zebras, Ostriches, and all sorts of animals! Did you know that an ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain?  Or that cheetah's are the only big cats that don't roar?  Did you know that a leopard's tail is as long as it's body?

So far, only some school-kids have touched my hair and only a few people (from India, not Uganda!!) have taken selfies with me.  The hotel is nicer than one you would find in Wyoming and the lake is beautiful.  Lake Victoria is right outside our window and it's so big it looks like the ocean!

When a person picked us up from the  airport, we remembered that here they don't speak Swahili, they speak Lugandan, so we're trying to learn a few words, but it is very hard!

Mweraba!  (goodbye)
